Dac "grew up" in the real estate business as the son of a real estate broker who practiced in Charleston, SC and Kiawah Island, SC. While Dac learned valuable lessons about the real estate business from his father, Dac forged his own path in the industry. In so doing, he has gone on to participate in more than $10 billion in real estate transactions as a broker or manager in the first 20 years of his career.
Following graduation from the University of South Carolina, Dac spent the ensuing decade in real estate sales and marketing roles for residential builders and developers. Dac's first job was Director of Community Marketing for the largest master-planned developer in the United States. Now part of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties, the development company's brokerage subsidiary handled all new home sales in Peachtree City - located in Georgia's most affluent county by per capita income. Dac played an integral role in the developer's first-ever foray into other markets with three simultaneously started master-planned communities. Some of his clients included national production builders such as Centex Homes and David Weekley Homes.
Three years later, Dac was hired as Director of Builder-Developer Services and Corporate Marketing for the largest real estate brokerage firm in Georgia (Metro Brokers/Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate). Dac grew and ultimately managed a team of more than 30 new home sales agents to service 16 builder accounts. His corporate marketing team supported 2,000 general brokerage sales agents and was responsible for dozens of local and national marketing awards.
In 2007, Dac got the opportunity to lead a start-up residential brokerage firm in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Despite the Great Recession, Dac grew the boutique, luxury-minded company to REAL Trends 500 member in just five years. Dac and his agents - along with a stellar marketing and administrative team - achieved more than $720 million in annual sales by 2019 and his agents were the city's top selling by dollar volume of real estate closed for all 12 of his years there.
In 2019, Dac returned to North Carolina where he graduated from high school. In just his first year back, Dac guided his largest client to a 242% year-over-year increase in closed sales versus 14% for the overall market.
Dac and his wife, Shannon, have two sons and live in the Biltmore Park area of Asheville.
